Aluminium Magazine Rack

Target Market: Male and Females in their 40s and 50s. Full time job. Have one or no kids. Small to medium size house or apartment.

Design Rationale: I wanted to design something that was sleek, modern and elegant. I kept it simple only using 6 fold all up, but because of the way it folded and its material thickness, 2mm, it is able to hold up a full load of magazines/newspapers/books. Because of its size, it is able to put anywhere in the home office or the living room (wherever the user like to reads). The fold on the sides are bent so that the magazine can sit in place. The designed was inspired by the lines on an envelope, the shape of diamonds and the industrials pipes. Keeping its industrial look, the finish on the product looks rough. There are two different finishes, one with a shine, mirror like polish, the other has a sliver matte finish. Lastly, I gave the product rubber feet, to give it its final look, and look like a product as whole. The rubber feet also give protection to whatever the user’s floor may be.
